Policies and Procedures

To comply with legislative requirements, UMass Boston GSSP has a number of policies and procedures in place. These policies and procedures include privacy, academic misconduct, academic probation and dismissal, and examination process.

Privacy Act

UMass Boston GSSP is bound by the Privacy Act which regulates the way private sector organizations can collect, use and disclose personal information.

Code of Conduct

The Code of Student Conduct provides a framework of standard acceptable behavior for students. Students are responsible for understanding and complying with this Code.

All students studying at UMass Boston GSSP have the right to be treated with respect and courtesy by UMass Boston GSSP and fellow students in an environment free from harassment and conducive to learning.

UMass Boston GSSP expects you to abide by the Code of Conduct by accepting responsibility for your behavior and conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times, treating fellow students and staff with respect, honesty and courtesy.

Grievance Procedures, Appeals or Complaints

UMass Boston GSSP has policies and procedures for dealing with student complaints, grievances and appeals in a constructive and timely manner.

Access and Equity

UMass Boston GSSP is committed to equal opportunity for all students to ensure that no student who has met the specified academic and English language entry requirements is denied access to a program and that no student, once enrolled in a course, is disadvantaged.

All UMass Boston GSSP staff, both academic and administrative, are responsible for ensuring that any student with disabilities is treated with dignity and courtesy, and given every opportunity to reach their full educational potential.

Academic Performance

UMass Boston GSSP Academic Regulations Policy outlines the required standards for academic performance at UMass Boston GSSP.

Credit Transfer

Credit transfer may be given to students who have completed no more than 18 academic credits of an equivalent course of study at accredited institutions of higher education where the grade received was not lower than the minimum requirement. A professional course-by-course evaluation of the documents may be required. Students who have completed more than 18 units of transferrable credit are not be eligible for UMass Boston GSSP.
